Cookies & tracking

Short version: this website sets no cookies and uses no advertising, retargeting, or social-media trackers, so there’s no cookie banner to click through. Here’s everything that does run, so you can decide for yourself.

On this website

• Cloudflare (hosting and security). Cloudflare delivers every page and may process your IP address and browser details to do that and to stop attacks. It doesn’t set cookies on this site.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics. A small script (from static.cloudflareinsights.com) counts page views and load times. Cloudflare says it doesn’t use cookies, local storage, or fingerprinting and doesn’t track you across sites. We only see totals, like “500 visits today.” About Cloudflare Web Analytics. Most content blockers stop it, and nothing on the site breaks if you do.
• Sign-up form. When (and only when) you press Subscribe, your email address is sent to Kit to start the double opt-in. Nothing is sent to Kit just by loading the page.
• Fonts and images. We use your device’s built-in fonts and host our images ourselves, so no font or image services see your visit.

When you click a deal

Deal links go to retailers such as Amazon and TikTok Shop. Once you’re on their site or app, they may set cookies (including an affiliate cookie that credits the sale to us) and collect information under their own policies, for example the Amazon Privacy Notice and Amazon Cookies Notice. TikTok Shop links are governed by the TikTok Privacy Policy. Amazon and other advertisers may serve content and ads, collect information directly from you, and place or recognize cookies in your browser. You can manage Amazon’s advertising choices at amazon.com/adprefs, and industry opt-outs at optout.aboutads.info.

In our emails

• Open pixel: a tiny invisible image that tells Kit whether an email was opened. Blocking remote images in your email app, or Apple Mail Privacy Protection, stops it.
• Click tracking: links go through a Kit redirect first so we can count clicks, then to the retailer.

We use these totals to see which deals readers like and to remove addresses that never open or that bounce. We don’t sell this data or use it for ads elsewhere.

Changes

If we ever add cookies or trackers that aren’t strictly needed (for example, ads), we’ll update this page first and ask for your consent or give you an opt-out where the law requires, and we’ll honor GPC for them.
